We are pleased to share an interview with Andy Huang, "that_hugeasian_guy" on IG - Powerlifter and coach in Southern California. We hope his experience will help guide others looking for answers. What is your sport/passion and how often do you practice per week? How rigorous is training or practices?
I am a world class Powerlifter, top 3 in the world for my weight class. I train 5 days a week. Extremely rigorous and heavy training. Pushing the limits of my body everyday. Often lifting over 700-800 lbs during workouts.
Do you ever feel sore, tired, or get injuries often?
Soreness and being tired is a weekly occurrence. Lifting the amount of weights I do takes a toll on my body every day. And the energy and effort demands leave me tired and fatigued every day. There might be 5-7 days a month where I feel ‘normal’.
What do you like about, or what role does Herbstrong have in your recovery/ performance for your sport? Which product(s) do you use?
Herbstrong products provides an essential daily role in helping me recover. The recovery cream helps reduce inflammation and reduce soreness and aches wherever I apply the cream. I have slight anxiety and trouble sleeping through the night. I take the CBD oil drops before I go to bed and it helps me fall asleep fast and not wake up numerous times through the night. I wake up feeling refreshed from a deep sleep.
Do you use them to help with anxiety or stress?
I get anxiety around times when I’m competing or having to hit a big lift. The drops help me calm down and focus.
Do you have a specific routine you follow when recovering from training?

What advice would you give to someone who has never tried CBD before?
Just give it a try. You can start with a small amount and increase as you want. Taking care of my anxiety, aches/pains, and getting a good nights sleep are very important to me and my performance...if taking a few simple drops with no side effects is all it takes, what else can you ask for?!?!
